Ministry Staff
Fr. Ed has an undergraduate degree in Ceramic Science and Engineering from Penn State and a Master’s of Divinity degree from the Catholic University of America. Since his ordination in 1989 he has served at Paulist campus ministries in Minneapolis, and Santa Barbara and in New York as Vocation Director for the Paulists. He is looking forward to his fourth year here in Texas. When he is not at the UCC or giving missions, you can find him biking, hiking, or working on his model railroad.
Fr. Jamie has a Master’s of Divinity degree from the Catholic University of America. He was raised on the family cattle ranch in northern New Mexico. He is entering his third year as Associate Director here at the UCC, and he looks forward to another year of Texas football.
A UT Austin alumnus (B.A. '66), Deacon John is on pastoral staff, assists and preaches at Mass, and with spouse, Dorothy, (alumnae, B.J. '66), coordinates the UCC marriage preparation workshops. He is also developing the Catholic Texas Exes Network. They have four children and six grandchildren. He is retired from both Bank of America and the UT System. Deacon John has announced he will be retiring from active ministry at the UCC after this academic year and moving out to the country.
Lindsay is an alumna of the Alliance for Catholic Education. She spent two years teaching high school English in Alabama and earning a master's degree in education from Notre Dame after graduating from the University of Maryland. She loves Jesus, grammar, and Harry Potter, though not necessarily in that order.
FOCUS Missionaries
Lauren is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has been a missionary with FOCUS for a year. She previously served at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. A Texas native, Lauren is happy to be back home serving as the Team Director for FOCUS at UT.
James, originally from West Des Moines, IA and a graduate of the University of Illinois, is entering his third year serving with FOCUS. He has spent two years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Varsity Catholic missionary, reaching out to NCAA athletes. In addition to working with Longhorn athletes, he will be overseeing the FOCUS men's outreach on campus.
Samantha Kelley, a Connecticut native, attended the University of Connecticut, where she played soccer and majored in Finance and Political Science. She works with the student athletes at UT, and is highly involved in the women's movement. Hook 'Em Horns!
Danny Torrez comes from the colorful state of Colorado. He was raised his whole life in the city of Loveland, Colorado. He recently graduated from The University of Northern Colorado while working as a part-time FOCUS missionary. Danny works primarily with male campus outreach.
Administrative Staff
Meghan was born and raised outside of Philadelphia, PA. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and is a recent alumna of the Graduate School here at UT (Hook 'em Horns!). She is thrilled to be joining the UCC staff.
Elizabeth originally hails from Nebraska and, despite being a University of Nebraska alumna and former Husker athlete, she is excited to cheer on the Horns! Upon graduation in 2008, Elizabeth spent two years working with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) before making the transition to Wall Street in New York City. She is excited to be a part of the powerhouse UCC team!
Rosa is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, earning her degree in Management Information Systems. She has been an active part of the UCC since her first year here in Austin, joining various groups throughout the UCC. She continues to be active and looks forward to continuing her work at the UCC.
Daniel is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in English and Kinesiology. He comes to us from the small town of Rotan, TX. Since his freshman year, Daniel has been very active within the UCC, joining many groups and also helping out around the UCC as much as possible.
