The University Catholic Center is committed to providing the best Catholic campus ministry possible to the students, faculty, and staff of The University of Texas at Austin. The UCC’s Development Office offers several opportunities for alumni, parents, and friends of the UCC to contribute to our mission throughout the year.
The UCC Annual Fund provides a critical source of financial support for the most urgent needs of the ministry. Your gift will have an immediate impact on students in the areas of:
- Liturgy and worship
- Social justice and pro-life initiatives
- Retreats
- Student faith formation
- Theological education
- Professional pastoral staff
Annual Phonathon: At the beginning of Lent each year, UCC students spend several weeks calling alumni, parents, and friends to ask for financial support for the ministry. Our next Phonathon will begin in February 2012
Living the lives that Jesus Christ calls us to live is not about staying comfortable. It’s about proclaiming the Good News on campus. It’s about studying scripture and the teachings of our faith. It’s about reaching out to our neighbors in need. It’s about praying for and with one another. And all of this costs money. So, when a Catholic UT student calls you during the Phonathon, please don’t hang up. Don’t yell at them for interrupting your dinner or your favorite TV show. Be nice to them. They are good kids who love their faith and the UCC. And they are also nervous about calling you and asking you for a gift for the UCC Annual Fund.
Matching Gift Sunday: Held twice a year, once in the Fall Semester and once in the Spring Semester, the UCC’s Matching Gift Sundays are vitally important in meeting our Annual Fund goal. Generous benefactors agree to match the Sunday collection dollar-for-dollar, inspiring extraordinary generosity from UCC students and resident community members. Parent Appeal: In the Fall Semester, the UCC appeals to parents for assistance with the Annual Fund. This essential appeal ensures a strong start to the academic year and the myriad of programs the UCC offers to UT students.
Living Faith Society Appeal: Throughout the year, members of the Living Faith Society contact UCC benefactors about joining them as monthly supporters of the University Catholic Center. As a Living Faith Society member, you are sustaining the daily operations of the Catholic Center, allowing things like the Awakening retreat and student mission trips to continue to change lives and deepen the spirituality of students.
