Those seeking a deeper relationship with Christ through membership in the Roman Catholic Church are guided through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process. This process begins in late August / early September each year and culminates in the Easter Vigil. It includes both the unbaptized (who are preparing to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) and those already baptized in another Christian community (who are preparing to make a profession of faith and be received into full communion with the Catholic Church, then receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist). RCIA is a great way to explore the Catholic faith, ask questions, and enjoy fellowship with others along this journey.
If you are interested in becoming Catholic or just learning more about the Catholic faith, please contact Fr. Fernando Ricaud. We collaborate with our neighbors at St. Mary's Cathedral to host the RCIA process, so all classes are held there, though UCC members will receive the Sacraments at the UCC.
*Fully initiated Catholics are always needed to serve as sponsors for those interested in becoming Catholic, as well as helping lead small groups, providing food, and more. So, if you feel the Lord calling you to serve in this way, please contact Fr. Fernando.
