The Church's ancient tradition of Spiritual Direction is a process of accompaniment, in which a directee meets regularly with a director experienced in the areas of prayer, spirituality, and personal growth. Through these conversations connections can be made between one's experience of God, personal history, and Catholic spiritual practices. Often spiritual direction provides a forum for the process of vocational discernment.
At the University Catholic Center, spiritual direction is provided by Fr. Jonathan Raia, Jocelyn Perez, Jennifer Salinas, and Br. Rob Clark, FMS. We also periodically host outside spiritual directors who have been vetted by the diocese of Austin or our pastoral staff.
